Hi, I’m Merle Popp – the face (and energy) behind Popp Coffee. Most days you’ll find me teaching dance classes to kids, which is as fun as it sounds… but also pretty intense. Let’s be honest: I can’t be spinning, jumping, and shaking forever. So I started asking myself: what else gives me energy?

The answer was right in front of me: coffee. Brewing it, drinking it, hunting down new beans, experimenting with flavors – it’s my happy place.

Together with my partner, I’m basically glued to our La Marzocco Micra (yes, it’s an obsession). But don’t worry, I’m not a total snob – I love a clean filter brew just as much for those subtle notes that sneak up on you.

Starting Popp Coffee is my way of turning this passion into my very first business. I’m curious, excited, maybe a little nervous – but mostly, I can’t wait to see who joins me on this adventure.

And the name? Well, that was easy. I’ve always thought my last name, Popp, had a nice ring to it – could’ve been a stage name if my dance career had gone another way 😉. Instead, it’s now on every bag of coffee we roast. Which honestly feels even better.
